A total of 7,319 poker players entered the World Series of Poker Main Event, with a field that comprised 18 former world champions, 150 bracelet holders and players from 92 different countries. After more than 78 hours of excitement, good poker, disappointments and surprises, the November Nine final table is complete.
The lucky poker players that will compete in November to become the next WSOP Main Event winner are: Jason Sentl, Joseph Cheong, John Dolan, Michael Mizrachi, John Racener, Cuong Nguyen, Matthew Jarvis, Jonathan Duhamel and Filippo Candio. “It's been incredible theatre,” WSOP spokesman Ty Stewart commented. “Converging storylines centered around a bunch of young guns and a popular pro trying to do something no one thought possible. It's deja vu in the best way possible.”
Jonathan Duhamel is the chip leader and will try to win Canada’s first WSOP championship. John Racener, Joseph Cheong and Jason Senti will try to win after years of working hard and Soi Nguyen is an amateur poker player who will try to beat the odds and be the winner in a field full of professional poker players. For Mizrachi there is an extra challenge because if he wins he will pull off a great double: winning the Players' Championship and the Main Event.
Four months still remain to find out who the winner of the Main Event will be. On 6th November these nine excellent poker players will meet one more time to show who the best of them all is. Meanwhile, there will be plenty of speculation, predictions and analysis.
